Designer Elie Tahari just scooped up two units at 15 Central Park West that boasts the largest terrace in the limestone, star-studded building.
Tahari paid $25.25 million for the privilege, according to city property records.
That may sound steep but is actually almost $4 million off the asking price.
Tahari bought adjacent units on the ninth floor.
Combined, Tahari’s new living quarters take up 4,099 square feet — and a stunning 3,319 square feet of landscaped outdoor terrace space.
Tahari was previously renting in the building for $30,000 month, which is expensive but still far less than the $125,000 a month that Robert De Niro is currently spending to live in the building while he waits for his own Central Park West home to be renovated following a devastating fire.
Tahari’s new floor boasts views of Central Park, Columbus Circle and the Hudson River.
The Robert A.M. Stern-designed building is known for its residents, including Sting, Denzel Washington and hedge funders like Daniel Loeb as well as the place where a Russian billionaire, Dmitry Rybolovlev, bought an $88 million unit for his daughter from ex-Citigroup honcho Sandy Weill — allegedly to keep the money out of his then-wife’s hands. (She ended up with the largest divorce judgement in history: a whopping $4.8 billion.)
The building is also known for its amenities, which include a private dining room, a 14,000 square foot gym with a pool, a library, conference rooms and private screening room.
The Tahari sale was first picked up by CityRealty’s blog.
