Three tower cranes hover like birds of prey over the site of Extell’s planned, 1,500-plus-foot-tall Nordstrom Tower at 217 W. 57th St., home to the department store and super-luxury condos.

But despite reports of a hoped-for, record $4.4 billion apartment sellout, Gary Barnett’s Extell Development still doesn’t seem to know what it’s building.

A rep said all renderings previously shown, such as the one shown in the inset, were wrong, and no final image is available.

Completion, once expected in 2018, now “should be” in 2019.
