Developer/mayoral maybe-candidate Don Peebles has sold his mansion in northwest Washington, DC, for $5.8 million.
The six-bedroom, 7½-bathroom, 9,710-square-foot home, at 4 Thompson Circle, was built in 1929 and comes with antique French doors, iron balustrades, hardwood floors, moldings and millwork.
Don PeeblesJohn RocaPeebles bought the home at the height of the market in 2007 and broke even with the sale.
Peebles, we hear, spent less than seven nights a year there for the past three years.
The home was built by philanthropist Christian Heurich as a wedding gift for his daughter.
It was later restored, and renovated to add state-of-the-art amenities.
The home includes a chef’s kitchen with butler’s pantry and a breakfast room, a library and laundry rooms on the top two floors.
The buyers are Kent and Karen Knutson — Kent serves as the vice president of government operations at Home Depot.
The listing brokers were Michael Rankin, Greg Gaddy and Carroll Dey of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty.
