The former editor-in-chief of Mademoiselle, Amy Levin Cooper, has sold the lakefront Connecticut property that she shared with her late husband, legendary GQ editor Art Cooper, for $1.29 million.

Cooper, who died of a stroke in 2003 at age 65 while eating lunch at the Four Seasons, began his career in 1964 as a reporter for the Harrisburg Patriot.

He then worked as a correspondent for Time and a cultural critic at Newsweek before joining GQ in 1983.

The couple’s 3,388-square-foot contemporary home, at 41 Sail Harbour Drive in New Fairfield, sprawls over 1.76 acres on Candlewood Lake and comes with a pool.

It was their beloved weekend retreat. The residence’s living room features a 30-foot-high ceiling, dramatic two-story windows and a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace.

There’s also a light-filled kitchen that opens to a private rear deck.

The listing broker was Karen Casey, of William Pitt Julia B Fee Sotheby’s International Realty.
