Financier Michael Lipsky, a partner at MatlinPatterson Global Advisors, bought a duplex penthouse at 330 E. 72nd St. The 3,992-square-foot unit has five bedrooms and 3½ bathrooms, as well as a chef’s kitchen and high ceilings.

The pad, which also has roughly 550 square feet of terraces, was asking $6.85 million.

Lipsky, formerly a managing director at BlackRock, sued the company after he left several years ago — alleging that he was deliberately denied access to his fund’s performance record for the period of time that he worked at BlackRock. The case settled out of court. Lipsky, through his spokesperson, declined comment.
