A new front porch is coming to 1345 Sixth Ave.
A $65 million upgrade of the public space, lobby and infrastructure at Fisher Brothers’ office tower includes this redesign of the east-facing plaza between West 54th and 55th streets.
A circular fountain will soften the plaza’s rectilinear, corporate look. It also spells the end of the starburst-shaped sculpture that sprayed water during warm weather since 1969.
Other changes include new landscaping and seating in Fisher Park, the plaza on the tower’s western side.
