Fashion designer Gemma Kahng, who made her name in the ’90s dressing celebs like Madonna and Sharon Stone, has made a recent comeback over the past few years — thanks in part to an appearance on Yahoo Style editor-in-chief Joe Zee’s TV show “All On The Line” and a New York Times Style section profile.
Kahng has listed her Police Building apartment downtown for $3.2 million. The 1,400-square-foot two-bedroom, 2½-bathroom duplex boasts a large foyer and double-height, 16-foot ceilings highlighted by a crystal chandelier.
There’s an open chef’s kitchen with breakfast bar seating and a master suite with an en suite spa-like bathroom.
A mahogany staircase leads to a mezzanine level with a coved ceiling — the room works as a guest room, home office or den.
The landmarked six-story building at 240 Centre St. dates back to 1905; it was the NYPD’s headquarters until 1973 and converted to condos in 1988.
Its amenities include a private garden and gym. Herbert Chou of Warburg Realty has the listing.
