A 1 Beekman Place duplex that was once home to the late fashion designer Arnold Scaasi and the late literacy advocate Parker Ladd has been back on the market for $6.99 million — its third markdown since it first asked $8.99 million last year.

Scaasi and Ladd, who were together for 53 years, hosted many a dinner party in the elegant space.

Canadian-born Scaasi designed gowns for First Ladies Mamie Eisenhower, Barbara Bush, Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush, as well as for Lauren Bacall and Ivana Trump.

The 11-room duplex has four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, a half bathroom and East River views.

It opens to a large foyer under a staircase that leads upstairs to the bedrooms. Off the entry hall is a corner living room and an adjacent library.

Both those rooms have fireplaces, Juliet balconies and river views.

There’s also a formal dining room, an eat-in chef’s kitchen with a butler’s pantry and a wine cellar, according to the listing.

The master suite features a wood burning fireplace and a dressing room. Building amenities include a gym, a pool, a riverfront garden and a garage.

The listing broker is Jill Roosevelt, of Brown Harris Stevens.
