Austrian-born fashion designer and artist Helmut Lang is poised to list his oceanfront Hamptons estate for $100 million, sources tell Gimme Shelter.

Until then, it is being shopped as an unofficial whisper listing, according to brokers familiar with the deal.

The East Hampton compound consists of a main house that dates to the 1940s, a guest cottage and a studio on 5 acres. The main house is 8,757 square feet and comes with five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

The compound — whose address is unclear, but it occupies 4-plus acres on Tyson Lane — is off Further Lane, where hedge funder Barry Rosenstein made a record $147 million purchase in 2014.

The famously reclusive Lang bought the home in 1999 for $15.5 million — after outbidding Jerry Seinfeld by $1 million.

At the time, reports said the famed funnyman was irate over being beat by a higher offer; a publicist for Seinfeld denied that claim.

During previous summers, Lang had rented a house nearby on Further Lane and then decided to spring for a purchase.

Lang transformed fashion with his sleek minimalist look when he rose to fame in the 1990s.

UPDATE, JUNE 5: We hear that Saunders & Associates’ Jane Gill is quietly shopping two-thirds of Lang’s Tyson Lane compound for $65 million. Lang is willing to part with the third parcel for $35 million — to bring the asking price up to the previously reported total of $100 million — once he finds a new house to move into, sources say.
