In his new role on Netflix’s “Uncoupled,” Neil Patrick Harris stars as a newly single real estate broker hustling for upscale relationships — and listings, as he gives viewers a tour of some prime city digs, such as a spread at the famed Beresford on the Upper West Side.
In real life, Harris and his husband, the actor and chef David Burtka — who has a minor role on the Netflix show — have just sold their own historic townhouse in Harlem for $6.99 million, sources tell Gimme Shelter exclusively.
That marks a neighborhood record, and a substantial return on their investment. The couple bought the townhouse for close to $3.6 million in 2013, as Gimme Shelter also reported exclusively at the time.

Built in 1908, the home is a spacious 8,000 square feet and comes with original details including moldings, millwork, high ceilings, three fireplaces and a restored wood staircase.
New details — the home was updated by New York architect Jeffery Povero and LA designer Trace Lehnhoff — include a secret door that hides a hidden office on the top floor, as well as a vintage bar. There’s also a formal dining room, a library, a music room and a wine cellar — along with a top-of-the-line chef’s kitchen that played its own starring role in Burtka’s cookbook, “Life is a Party.”
Outside, there are more than 2,000 square feet of terraces, gardens and decks — including a landscaped and irrigated roof deck that’s perfect for entertaining, with an outdoor grill and a dining table that seats eight under a wood pergola. There’s also a Jacuzzi.

But they have been spending so much time in the Hamptons since the pandemic that they decided to downsize in the city, sources say.
At the premiere of “Uncoupled,” Burtka recently told Page Six he’d have no idea how to navigate the dating world today, as the two have been married since 2014. “I can’t imagine getting thrown into that pool of dating anymore, it’s vicious,” Burtka said, adding that the couple “missed the whole Grindr app, telephone meeting. I wouldn’t know how to do it. We would have no idea.”
The listing brokers for their home were Vickey and Pacey Barron, of Compass.
