The set for TLC’s “Kate Plus Eight” — the real-life Gosselin household — is now officially part of a bygone era.
The six-bedroom, five-and-two-half bathroom home in Wernersville, Pennsylvania, sold for $1.085 million on Jan. 26, according to Realtor.com.
The infamous family with both twins and sextuplets purchased the 7,591-square-foot house for $1.12 million in 2008, a year before they divorced.
The show hit some speed bumps because the filming location — the family home — became a contentious legal issue in the couple’s divorce. The divorce ultimately contributed to the show’s cancellation, the New York Post previously reported.
The Gosselins listed the property for $1.299 million in October 2020, but ended up selling the property at a slight loss, according to Realtor.com property records.

Built in 1997, the home has its original oak and cherry hardwood floors. But its most stunning feature is a gorgeous chef’s kitchen with dual islands, three ovens, six burners, two dishwashers and an attached formal dining room with gas fireplace and crown molding.
The basement has a game room, a man cave and a family room that opens to the covered patio and pool. The basement’s laundry room has two washers and dryers.
The sprawling 23-acre Pennsylvania estate has a three-stall horse barn with 10 fenced-in acres for horses to run.
And the home’s 850-square-foot deck has an outdoor kitchen, a fire pit and spiral staircase down to the saltwater pool and spa with a twisting water slide. There is also a guest apartment over the three-car garage.
From 2006 to 2017, America watched the eight Gosselin children grow up on “Surviving Sextuplets and Twins” and “One Year Later” by Discovery Health Channel, then TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus Eight” and finally “Kate Plus Eight” when the couple divorced in 2009.
The 20-year-old twins, Cara Nicole and Madelyn Kate, and four of the 16-year-old sextuplets, Alexis Faith, Aaden Jonathan, Leah Hope and Joel Kevin, live with their mother. Hannah Joy and Collin Thomas, 16, live with their father. The couple has volleyed accusations from abuse to narcissism amid custody fights.
RE/MAX of Reading broker Joey Frey represented the seller, and Century 21 Gold broker Antonio Borelli represented the buyer. Neither could be reached for comment in time for publication.
