Since COVID-19 swept the world in 2020, “The Bachelor” franchise said goodbye to the famous bachelor mansion where most of the previous seasons have filmed and instead opted for secluded and luxurious resorts.

The current season of “The Bachelorette” was no different, with Season 17 starring Katie Thurston filmed between March and April at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya resort located in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico. The move was done to ensure the safety of the cast and crew to continue filming the series amid the pandemic.

A 4.5-star hotel, the resort boasts three outdoor pools and one whirlpool, in addition to a yoga wellness studio.

Located between the Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande River, the Hyatt Regency Tamaya is named for the Tamayame people, a tribe of Native Americans who live in the town.

The resort sits on 550 acres and its many on-site activities include hot air balloon rides, a golf course and tennis courts, as well as access to ski trails, horse stables, bike riding, jeep tours, hot-air ballooning, wineries and more — perfect for all those steamy dates.

There is also a fine-dining restaurant for a full tasting experience.

Matt James’s season of “The Bachelor” was also shot at a resort — Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania — along with both Tayshia Adams and Clare Crawley’s seasons of “The Bachelorette,” which were filmed at the La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, California.

This marks the first season without the longtime host, Chris Harrison, who left following controversial statements deemed racist by critics. Since his departure, ratings for the first episode of this season were at an all-time low for the franchise.
