But will they make their guests take off their shoes before entering?
Global fashion “It Man” Edgardo Osorio, the designer and founder of high-end shoe collection Aquazzura (yes, we are also obsessed), and Ricardo D’Almeida Figueiredo are in contract to buy a striking penthouse duplex loft at 559 W. 23rd St.

The couple’s new three-bedroom, two-bathroom penthouse, last asking $4.95 million, is 1,765 square feet.
Osorio tells Gimme Shelter that he loves his Chelsea space. “I love art, being so close to the galleries, being by the water — and sunsets from the terrace,” he says.
Although Osorio says he practically lives on a plane — he is opening up a series of boutiques, from Toronto to Moscow, Bal Harbour, Hong Kong and Macao — he is in New York at least three months a year. He had been living at the Mark Hotel, and loving it. But he’s thrilled to have his own home here as well.
Chelsea is also the most convenient neighborhood for him — with the West Side Highway, he’s close to his new Upper East Side boutique on Madison Avenue at East 74th Street, his Midtown showroom and the downtown social scene. “Now I have a little bit of roots in New York City,” he says with a laugh.
His move to New York coincides with the opening of this UES boutique — which, since its black-and-white pillars are inspired by Florence’s Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, he calls the “church of shoes.”
Osorio, who is 30 years old, has been on a roll since he headed up Roberto Cavalli’s shoe line when he was a mere 23 years of age.
Then he launched Aquazzura in 2011.
Osorio’s success is his ability to create simple, elegant shoes — what women actually want to wear. “I went to department stores, and there was nothing that I really loved,” he told the Daily Telegraph.
“All the shoes were too complicated, too crazy, too ridiculous, too extreme. I just thought, ‘Maybe somebody wants a beautifully simple, sexy shoe that they can actually walk in.’”
The couple’s new penthouse comes with 19-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and 408 square feet of exterior space, including a terrace off the living room and two glass balconies off the bedrooms.
The penthouse also features wide, oak-plank floors, a chef’s kitchen and spa-like bathrooms.
The building, made up of six units, has amenities like a part-time doorman, a gym and bike storage.
The listing brokers are Corcoran’s Julie Pham and Daren Herzberg.
