Actor/director Greta Gerwig is on the hunt for some reel estate.
Gerwig, who earned critical acclaim for her film “Lady Bird,” and her partner, filmmaker Noah Baumbach, were spotted house hunting in the West Village.
249 Waverly PlaceHelayne SeidmanOne spot they toured was 249 Waverly Place, a five-story brick townhouse from 1861 that was asking $6.3 million. It was temporarily taken off the market this week for the holidays, but is still unofficially for sale — and will go back on the market in the new year, sources say.
The three-bedroom, 3½-bathroom home is 2,800 square feet and comes with five working fireplaces.
The spread has been renovated, includes a finished basement and a roof deck. Original details are intact, including the mahogany staircase, the wood floors and framed entries.
It all comes at a busy time for Gerwig, who’s directing an adaptation of “Little Women,” whose cast includes Meryl Streep, Laura Dern and Timothée Chalamet (whose mother is Corcoran agent Nicole Flender).
The townhouse’s listing brokers were Douglas Elliman’s Abigail Agranat, Leslie Mason and Steve Halprin.
