This waterfront home is good for a laugh.

Legendary filmmaker, actor and comedian Mel Brooks and his late wife, actress Anne Bancroft, once lived in the shingled beach cottage at 1421 Meadow Lane in Southampton. If you want to inherit a piece of comedic history, the home can be yours for $4.99 million.

Brooks, who is still working at 93, is celebrated for his hits including “Blazing Saddles,” “Spaceballs,” and with Carl Reiner, the hilarious “2000 Year Old Man” comedy sketch.

Bancroft, who died in 2005 at age 73, won an Oscar for her role in “The Miracle Worker” and received Oscar nominations for several other roles, including in “The Graduate.”

The 2,304-square-foot home, built in 1960, sits on Shinnecock Bay on one of the poshest streets in the Hamptons.

The four-bedroom property has water views from every room. If that’s not enough, the 1.33-acre grounds offer room for expansion and the installation of a pool.

The kitchen has newly finished marble counters and, outside, there’s a deck with an outdoor shower overlooking the bay.

Listing images additionally show fireplaces in the living room and master bedroom.

The listing broker is Michaela Keszler of Douglas Elliman.
