It wasn’t exactly a slam dunk. But now retired NBA star Deron Williams, formerly of the Brooklyn Nets, has finally sold his Tribeca penthouse at 35 North Moore St. for less than half its original asking price.

Williams paid $15.8 million for the glam pad in 2013 and then made a splash, listing it for $33.5 million in 2015. But it took a pandemic — and multiple price slashes — before it finally found a buyer, who loved its massive size and COVID-friendly outdoor spaces.

It closed for $16.4 million, according to city records. The six-bedroom, 7,200-square-foot space features fun details like a floating staircase and a climate-controlled wine-tasting room.

There is also 3,000 square feet of exterior space and two parking spaces!

The buyer, we hear, is a New Yorker who hid his identity under an LLC, Waterbuffalo.

“He is a New Yorker who believes in the city,” said listing broker Andrew Azoulay, of Douglas Elliman. “This property checked all the boxes. It has the downtown footprint with lots of outdoor space.”
