This rock ‘n’ roll Flatiron loft comes with its own column of New York City music history.

The two-bedroom, two-bath loft at 14 W. 17th St. — which was on the market for $2.8 million and is about to go into contract with a New York-based finance family after a bidding war — features a support column in the center of a room signed by music icons including Kurt Cobain, Kiss, the Wailers, Sarah McLachlan, Robert Plant and Joan Jett.

The current owner, Marilyn Ontell, has lived in the building since 1976. It was formerly owned by David Tan, a photographer, and his widow Yoko Tan, a journalist. The couple worked closely with the artists, and David staged many of his photographs here.

The column, Ontell says in a video about the loft,  is “a vestige of rough, raw and real” New York City at a time when “rock and roll ruled the city.”

The light filled co-op — near Union Square and Madison Square Park — opens with a key-locked elevator.
