When zooming out of the city, eagle-eyed Metro North or Amtrak passengers can spot a handful of stunning homes built into the cliffs along the Hudson River. Their urban counterparts can even be found in upper Manhattan — and now, one of these rare properties is up for sale.

Dubbed the “Pumpkin House” for the way the sunset rays make its river-facing façade glow like a jack-o’-lantern, a waterfront manse at 16 Chittenden Ave. in Hudson Heights is on the market for $4.25 million. The listing was first reported by Curbed.

The six-bedroom property originally hit the market last year with a different brokerage — asking $5.25 million — before going offline earlier this month, StreetEasy shows.

Dating back to 1925, the house — set atop a mighty pedestal that juts into a slab of rock — made an appearance on the short-lived “Selling New York” series on HGTV.

Its first owner was an engineer named Cleveland Walcutt, Curbed notes, and it has only sold a few times since then. The current owner, a decorator named William Spink, bought the spread — now configured as a two-family dwelling with a lower-level apartment and an owner’s duplex — for $1 million in 2000, and kitted it out with a new roof and an updated façade.

Historical charm remains, though, with features including ornate ceiling beams, a prominent marble mantel in the wood-paneled living room and handsome picture moldings.

Outside, a roof terrace crowns it all, while two balconies — with views of the Hudson, the Palisades and the nearby George Washington Bridge — are also an option for al fresco living. There’s a garden space and a two-car garage, too.

The listing also notes that this property can be adapted for single-family use.

Randy Lombard and Renee Junewicz of Sotheby’s International Realty are repping this listing.
