Orlando Bloom is looking to part ways with his Malibu home for $12 million — but he already parted ways with Malibu some time ago.

The Wall Street Journal reports the “Lord of the Rings” star wants to sell the property because he hasn’t lived there for several years. What’s more, Bloom has moved farther north in California, though it isn’t clear where.

This four-bedroom Malibu perch served as his primary home for more than a decade. He purchased it with his then-wife Miranda Kerr for some $2.5 million in 2011. The couple split in 2013.

“It felt like it might be the right time to let it go,” Bloom told the Journal, which added he rented it out last year and realized he would likely never return. However, he said he’s reluctant to sell it.

Bloom was initially drawn to the home’s seclusion and access to El Matador State Beach, which is just steps away. The property stands on less than a half acre.

The residence was built around the 1970s. During Bloom’s ownership, a renovation ensued, with work including the creation of a more open plan living and kitchen area — and the addition of a pool outside overlooking the Pacific. The renovation also added custom finishes in addition to furniture, which can be included in the sale.

The artist and furniture designer Roy McMakin handled the interiors. The extent of the renovation cost more than twice what he originally paid for the dwelling.
