This turn-of-the-century, and tricked-out, Upper East Side townhouse asking $15.99 million has found a buyer.
The seller is Ronald Dickerman, founder of real estate private equity firm Madison International Realty. Dickerman bought the home 10 years ago for $15.5 million, via a shell company, according to property records.
The 21-foot-wide residence, at 159 E. 61st St., is around 7,500 square feet. It’s in contract, but the final sale price isn’t yet known.
Gut-renovated, it’s anchored by a meandering staircase, with additional light from a top-floor skylight. But if you don’t feel like climbing all those stairs, there’s also a four-passenger elevator made of walnut and ostrich leather.
The townhouse features six bedrooms, six baths, two powder rooms and four woodburning fireplaces. The main bedroom takes up an entire floor, and boasts a walk-in closet and sitting room.
