Television producer Shonda Rhimes, of “Scandal” and “Grey’s Anatomy” fame, has bought a tony penthouse at 765 Park Ave., according to property records quietly filed with the city last Friday.
Rhimes paid $11.75 million for the two-bedroom co-op, which is far less than its original $14.75 million asking price earlier this year — and far grander than even her “Scandal” character Olivia Pope’s (played by Kerry Washington) glamorous DC digs.
The stately unit is in a Rosario Candela building that dates to 1927.
The spread, which underwent a two-year renovation, comes with its own elevator and a wrap terrace with city views — which offers a place with “privacy for meditation and morning coffee,” notes the listing.
Details include a corner living room with a woodburning fireplace and a door on both sides that opens to the terrace.
There’s also a formal dining room that has been converted into a library with another woodburning fireplace and an office.
If Rimes wants to entertain, she’ll have a large chef’s kitchen with an eat-in island, a wet bar and a second dishwasher do so.
Mary Fitzgibbons of Brown Harris Stevens had the listing.
