A palatial waterfront estate in Long Island’s tony enclave of Great Neck hit the market last week for a whopping $100 million, making it Nassau County’s priciest residential listing, according to Zillow.
Formerly owned by late Georgian billionaire fertilizer bigwig Tamir Sapir, this 8-acre spread with 13 bedrooms and 35 bathrooms oozes all kinds of Soviet-chic features. Its fountains are inspired by those from the Peterhof Grand Palace in St. Petersburg, and it has a private pier with room for a 200-foot yacht — and that’s just on the outside! Inside, a very deep-pocketed buyer will get an indoor lazy river, hair salon, two-story built-in doll house, ballroom, saunas and steam rooms. It’s being marketed by Diane Polland of Coldwell Banker.
This made us wonder: What else does Nassau County have to offer? Below, a look at the other pricey pads that round out the county’s top 5 most expensive.
88 Old House Lane, Sands Point: $38 million

Standing at a mighty 16,000 square feet, this mansion on a nearly 4-acre lot packs a host of enviable amenities. Not only is there a private beach, but there’s also an indoor pool, full spa area and a golf simulator. For a year, the buyer can also have a housekeeper, chef and driver, according to the listing. As for the nitty-gritty details, there are eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms and four half-bathrooms.

53 Mill River Road, Upper Brookville: $29.98 million

This nearly $30 million listing offers plenty of room for growth, if not entertainment. Not only is there a 7,700-square-foot Tudor-style main house with three bedrooms and 6 ½ bathrooms, but there are also ample guest spaces on offer. Take the property’s two three-bedroom brick cottages on 2 acres apiece, a four-bedroom guest house and a studio cottage. If you’re not ready to let go of summer, there’s also a sparkly blue pool outside.

21-24 Hicks Lane, Sands Point: $20.99 million

If you think you’re far from Manhattan, think again: This property features city skyline views. But that’s not the only cool feature. This 5,800-square-foot brick manor has a 400-foot dock on Manhasset Bay with 650 feet of waterfront. There’s also a tennis court, gunite pool and running track. If nine bedrooms and 5 ½ bathrooms aren’t enough, the spread also has two guest cottages.

198A Kings Point Road, Kings Point: $18 million

Brace yourselves, because this gated 5-acre estate packs quite the punch. Sure, it has nine bedrooms, but there are also six fireplaces, two dens and a media room, terrace space with views of the Long Island Sound, an all-weather tennis court, as well as indoor and outdoor heated pools. We’re sure guests will want to come have fun here, too, and they’ll have two separate cottages with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and kitchens. All this and Penn Station is just a short train ride away!
