Well, that’s one way to stage your home!
On the market in Huntsville, Ala., a four-bedroom, 3½-bath house is chock-full of eccentric items like stone crucifixes, cherub ornaments and coat-of-arms plaques. Real estate website Zillow listed the Spanish-style home for $879,900 in January. Curbed first reported on the property this week.
“The owners like pretty things, and they’ve been collecting for years,” says Gayle Porter, the broker. “Everything is well-kept. I think it’s a beautiful space”
It certainly has an uncommon aesthetic. The 5,802-square-foot space is dotted with medieval touches right down to its gym, which features an elliptical machine, gilded picture frames and a gothic chandelier.
Outdoors, the patio has stone flower pots, wrought-iron chairs and candlesticks overlooking a gunite salt-water pool.
“This is not a house some builder threw up,” Torter says. “[The owners] wanted something unique, and they could afford to build it their way.”
Bad news for buyers charmed by the space’s unconventional décor: The 41-year-old house will be sold unfurnished.
