Don’t you ever just want to escape from it all?
At a new log cabin nestled in the Swiss Alps, you can rest assured that you’ll be free from any unwanted human interaction, as the one-person chalet is literally camouflaged into the mountainside. The only possible giveaway? A small window and a recessed doorway.
Inside, guests will find a typical cabin, complete with a small bed, fold-down table and even a fireplace.
Designed by Swiss studio Bureau A, the structure was originally made as part of a residency at a sculpture park in Verbier, Switzerland. It took six weeks to perfect the lodge-turned-boulder in their shop, after which it was transported via flatbed to the Alps.
But before you rush to book your stay, neither the architects of the mountain escape nor the sculpture park in Verbier make mention of taking reservations for the hidden escape.
Also missing? A bathroom — or at least an outhouse of some sort.
