The Future of New York’s Multi-Family Residential Market
What is the state of New York’s multi-family residential market for 2013 and beyond? New developments are rising out of the ground, transaction volume is growing, rents are at pre-recession levels, mortgage rates are at an all-time low, and foreign capital is on the rise. The Mayor’s Office is even initiating a new model of housing that will respond to our City’s changing demographics. But the market is still in state of flux and the future is uncertain. The panel of residential development and market experts will discuss the effects of all these forces on residential development, and present their perspectives on the future of this critical market sector. 8 to 10 a.m. $135. CUNY Graduate Center 365 Fifth Ave. For details, email Alicia.Koledin@som.com.

Benchmarking and Weatherization
As awareness of sustainable building is growing many are focusing on the more conspicuous elements that can be involved: solar panels, wind turbines, green roofs, etc. Once your building is weatherized it’s important to monitor its performance so you can see the benefits involved and make sure they last. These two practices, benchmarking and weatherization, will be looked at in the form of data derived from Local Law 84, case studies and a broad overview of the benefits of these practices. John Lee is the Deputy Director for Green Buildings and Energy Efficiency at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Long Term Planning and Sustainability, is one of the panel speakers. 6:30 – 8 p.m. Free. Nixon Peabody, 437 Madison Ave.
