Eat Drink Art Design
The artists and designers in this exhibition, including Ted Muehling, Cindy Sherman, and Dale Chihuly, have created objects for the table — cups and plates, tea sets and silverware — that redefine the art of dining. Featured works range from handcrafted antique vessels, to elegant flatware and goblets, to recent conceptual works by artists. The show reveals the ways in which the table can be a domestic setting for families and feasts, as well as an intellectual space for ideas and history. The exhibit continues through Feb. 6, 2011. Museum of Arts & Design, 2 Columbus Circle.

Part of an ongoing series, the Urban Forum: New York Neighborhoods, Preservation and Development Panelists, this discussion will include Rafael Cestero of NYC’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development; Daniel Garodnick of City Council District 4; and Jerilyn Perine of Citizens Housing and Planning Council. 6:30 pm.
