The Astor, a landmarked Upper West Side condo building originally developed by William Waldorf Astor in 1901, is getting three new modern penthouse builds.

They all come with private outdoor areas, gas fireplaces and interiors by Pembrooke & Ives.

Located at 235 W. 75th St., between Broadway and West End Avenue, the first penthouse is a raw space that’s already in contract and will be combined with a unit below. The combo was last asking $15.49 million.

Two additional penthouses will hit the market in the coming months, ranging from $10 million to $15 million, a spokesperson says.

The penthouse that sold is a four-bedroom, 4½-bath unit measuring 3,400 square feet. It comes with an additional 2,000 square feet of outdoor space overlooking Broadway.

The buyer also bought a three-bedroom, 2½-bath unit in the existing building’s top floor and plans to combine them into a 5,400-square-foot duplex, sources said.

That buyer, we hear, is a local Upper West Sider moving from a townhouse.

Former Knicks point guard José Calderón also bought a $5 million unit in the building in 2020, according to reports.

The Astor is made up of three towers. Two towers are eight stories and one is 12 stories — before the modern penthouse additions.

Astor, a cousin of John Jacob Astor IV, who died on the Titanic in 1912, also built the Waldorf Hotel and the Apthorp.

Building amenities include a gym, a concierge and a children’s playroom.

The listing broker for the combo penthouse unit in contract is Michael Kafka of Douglas Elliman, who is handling sales for the building along with Elliman’s Kyle Egan, Katherine Gauthier and Wilfredo Rivera.
