Ben Lerer — the co-founder and CEO of Group Nine Media, the parent company of popular websites Thrillist, NowThis, The Dodo and Seeker — and his wife, Emily Rotter, have sold their Soho apartment for $5.36 million.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment at 101 Wooster St. asked $7.39 million when it first listed in February 2017, and got a price chop to $5.99 million in June.

Lerer, who is also the son of Huffington Post co-founder Ken Lerer, and Rotter bought the 3,600-square-foot unit from Whoopi Goldberg for $3.07 million in 2010. (Goldberg used her birth name, Caryn Johnson, on property records.)
The striking second-floor co-op has 12-foot-plus ceilings and a large media room. It also features a chef’s kitchen, oak floors, antique doors, original columns and access to a common roof deck. Recent listing photos reveal that the loft’s colorfully eclectic decor has been toned down — probably to appeal to a wider range of buyers.
It must have worked.
Listing broker Sheila Trichter, of Warburg, declined to comment. (The apartment had previously been listed with Elliman and Compass brokers.)
