Townhouse tears
Is the grandiose trophy townhouse at 16 W. 12 St. cursed — at least when it comes to love? Glam couples live there together — and then break up.
Literary agent Luke Janklow and Sweetiepie restaurant founder Julie Janklow bought the house for $4.5 million in 2004 from divorcing couple Andre Balazs, the hotelier, and Katie Ford, CEO of Ford Models.
When the sweet life turned sour last winter, the Janklows listed the townhouse for $24.9 million. It’s now getting a hefty price cut. Brown Harris Stevens broker Paula Del Nunzio has the listing — now down to $19.5 million, reports The Post’s Jennifer Gould Keil.
The 8,100-square-foot, 25-foot wide brownstone comes with five woodburning fireplaces, an elevator, garden, roof garden and basement.
There’s a 60-foot parlor drawing room and a movie theater with a rear projector and screen that descends from the ceiling. As for the master suite, there are his-and-hers bathrooms (perfect to prepare a couple for divorce), two fireplaces and two private dressing rooms.
