These days, we all want a hit of nature’s “golden milk” — aka colostrum.
Colostrum is the first milk mammals produce in late pregnancy and the first days after birth. And it’s not just human colostrum that’s in demand. Today, thousands of bovine (cow) colostrum supplements have entered the market for adult consumption.
Naturally rich in antibodies, growth factors, and protective compounds, some research suggests colostrum may support immunity, athletic performance, and digestion — and possibly benefit hair and skin health. But with so many colostrum supplements available, it can be hard to know which is best. When I spoke with Parsley Health dietitian Kelly Candela, RD, she emphasized that quality matters far more than quantity.
“A high-quality product should be carefully tested and free from contaminants like harmful bacteria, antibiotics, and aflatoxins,” Candela noted. “Gentle, low-heat processing helps preserve the compounds that make colostrum effective, since excessive heat can damage or destroy key bioactive components.”
As I reflected on Candela’s recommendations, one brand truly stood out to me: ARMRA Colostrum.
Holly J ColeyWhat is ARMRA Colostrum?
The viral colostrum supplement brand was founded by pediatric neurologist Sarah Rahal. Its website describes its proprietary colostrum powder as an “unrivaled powerhouse of 400+ nutrients from nature’s first food, your original blueprint to restore what the modern world quietly strips away.”
ARMRA backs its claims with data showing its results, which is likely why many users are willing to pay the premium price. A single 180-gram jar retails between $119 and $129.
It’s also one of the cleanest formulas on the market; free from sugar, gluten, GMOs, hormones, binders and more. And perhaps most importantly, it’s made with ARMRA’s proprietary Cold-Chain BioPotent Pasteurization Technology, designed to preserve the bioavailability of its key nutrients.
In other words, ARMRA’s colostrum is literally the “creme de la creme” of nature’s first milk. It’s no surprise that it has developed a cult-like following on social media — and in our office, too. Our Deputy Commerce Editor, Holly J Coley, was the first to introduce me to the brand.
“I had the privilege (and I’m not being dramatic) of testing ARMRA when it first hit the market. I was a little skeptical about this ‘superfood’ and whether it really could do all the things people said it could, but after speaking to Dr. Rahal, I was open to trying it for at least a month,” Coley told me.
Now, years later, she calls herself a true advocate for ARMRA and adds that she “simply won’t bother with other colostrum brands.” Following her recommendation, I’ve spent six months taking ARMRA and tracking its effects, and several others on our team have started using it as well.
Here’s why we continue to stand by ARMRA.
Armra Colostrum Health Revival
ARMRAARMRA is one of the most well-regarded colostrum brands on the internet. Its formula features a proprietary Colostrum Concentrate, which undergoes a cold-chain processing method, designed to preserve nutrients in their purest and most potent form for maximum impact.
The powder can be stirred into liquids, mixed into yogurt, or sprinkled on food, though the brand suggests dry scooping it “for the most potent benefits,” as this maximizes contact with the mucosal surfaces of the mouth and esophagus. For maximum benefits, four or more servings can be taken at any time of day.

My Review
Below, I’ve recounted my own experience taking ARMRA colostrum over a six-month period, as well as compiled review notes from different members of the Post Wanted team.
Miska SalemannFlavor and Ease of Use
If you want to stick with a supplement, it has to be easy to use, and this is one area where ARMRA® mostly gets it right. The brand recommends up to four daily servings, either whisked into liquids or as dry scoops.
You might need to remember to take ARMRA and spend a little time preparing it, but if you want the benefits, it’s worth the effort. The single-serve travel sticks are super convenient for on-the-go use, while the glass jar packaging is durable and more environmentally-friendly.
Some clumping is to be expected. According to the brand, that’s “ARMRA’s purity on full display.” Personally, this didn’t bother me at all. With a handheld mixer or my electric frother (used on the cool setting), the consistency becomes much smoother. I just wouldn’t recommend mixing by hand.
One thing I appreciate is the variety. ARMRA has many more flavor options than other colostrum brands, which could be a big hook for some people. I’ve found that the Vine Wartermelon and Blood Orange taste like elevated mocktails, so it’s not difficult to add to your routine.
Commerce reporter Emma Sutton-Williams started ARMRA to support her hair growth journey. She’s not fully sold on the flavored options, but appreciates that the unflavored version blends easily into other liquids. (ARMRA recommends using a cool beverage, since high heat can destroy the vital antibodies.)
“Although I just started, I can say without a doubt I prefer drinking the flavorless one and hiding it in my protein shakes,” she said. “The watermelon flavor reminded me more of Kool-Aid, but as summer approaches, you might enjoy a refreshing drink.”
Benefits
The benefits showed up sooner than I expected.
Within the first couple of weeks, I started noticing some of the things ARMRA fans rave about: a slightly elevated mood and a bit more energy. I found myself drinking less coffee, and the usual mid-day slump was no longer part of my day. For Coley, she said her desire for an afternoon pick-me-up disappeared by day four of use.
While it might not be magic, we both definitely felt it working.
Some users have also reported clearer skin and longer hair — exactly why a few of my colleagues have started colostrum. I haven’t noticed as many visible changes in my appearance, but I have seen slightly less inflammation in my face (though I also use a lymphatic-friendly gua sha, so that could be a factor).
Coley, on the other hand, has said she experienced some of those external skin benefits: “After a month, my skin looked better,” she noted. “I swear the elevens appearing between my brows went down to just one point five) and I simply felt more energized and less susceptible to being rundown.”
Our Senior Partnerships Manager, Frank Massaro, also mentioned that his wife started taking colostrum after welcoming their new baby. She was struggling with postpartum hair loss, and eventually decided to try a product similar to what she had supplied to her newborn: Colostrum.
“Since using ARMRA, I have noticed my hair falling out less,” she shared. “My hair actually feels stronger, and my nails are starting to gain back some sheen. I have been taking ARMRA on and off for the last three months, but I plan to start using it more consistently now that I have seen the subtle changes.”
For me, the real difference came around the three-month mark, when I upped my dosage to three sticks a day and began noticing better digestion and a more relaxed gut. My occasional bloating seemed to go away — especially during my luteal and menstrual phases.
This other benefit may not be entirely due to the colostrum itself, but a benefit by proxy. I started swapping my usual pick-me-up drinks, like Diet Coke or a Celsius, for a drink with ARMRA instead. It likely helped reduce my mid-day sugar crashes, was easier on my digestion and kept me feeling more balanced.
All in all, the benefits of ARMRA are impressive, especially considering it’s a completely natural supplement. I would note that it might take a bit of time to notice the more noticeable effects, but in my opinion, they are well worth the wait.
Side Effects
Colostrum is generally well-tolerated. In my research, Candela noted that it should be avoided by anyone with a true cow’s milk protein allergy “because it contains lactose, it may cause bloating or digestive symptoms in people who are lactose intolerant.”
This is another area where ARMRA stands out. ARMRA removes fat and casein — the most common dairy allergen — from its colostrum, creating a purer product while still preserving the full spectrum of bioactive nutrients. This makes it suitable for individuals who are more sensitive to dairy.
I don’t have a true dairy allergy, though I experience occasional gut discomfort after eating too much dairy or cheese. Even so, taking ARMRA didn’t bother me at all. That said, some users have reported minor digestive side effects.
It’s always important to consult your physician before starting any supplement.
How ARMRA Compares
Miska SalemannARMRA is expensive, but if you’re looking for a high-quality supplement, that premium price is reasonable. There are a few reasons why ARMRA stands out against other colostrum brands.
First, the technology: ARMA uses proprietary Cold‑Chain BioPotent Pasuterization Technology to preserve 400-plus bioactive nutrients, growth factors and peptides, which it says helps maximize efficacy. While ARMRA offers just one gram of colostrum per serving — less than some other popular brands like Cowboy Colostrum — many experts argue that quality matters more than quantity.
ARMRA also offers more flavor options than many other brands, which is appealing, though not necessarily a dealbreaker. Its formula is simple and straightforward, with no sugar or unnecessary additives. It’s relatively easy to use. However, those who prefer not to mix powder might find a liquid colostrum option more convenient.
Perhaps my strongest reason for recommending ARMRA is that the brand cares about every step of sourcing and manufacturing. It’s produced from grass-fed, non-GMO, glyphosate-free, sustainably managed family farms across the U.S., is third-party tested, and shares both clinical research and user reviews for transparency.
Is it worth it? Final Thoughts
In terms of ease of use and the benefits I experienced, ARMRA colostrum was an easy choice for me — and for many others on our team. I didn’t notice any side effects during my six-month stint, and have enjoyed the benefits long enough to make it a consistent part of my wellness regimen.
The higher price is a consideration, but with ARMRA, you can trust that you’re getting what you pay for. Coley writes, “I recognize it’s expensive, but of all the additional supplements I’ve included in my routine, it’s the single one I tell people is 100% worth the splurge. You don’t need collagen and all the other stuff when you take this. It has naturally occurring peptides, probiotics — you name it.”
It’s clear that ARMRA isn’t a “pump-and-dump” brand; every step of the sourcing and manufacturing process is handled carefully, and the founders genuinely care about what is going into the supplement. The result is a product that actually made noticeable improvements in my life, and many others.
For that reason, I’d recommend it to anyone who takes their health seriously, but especially those looking to support their immune system and strengthen their gut.
How We Tested
I’ve been using ARMRA Colostrum for the past six months, and in reviewing the product, I have considered several factors — including flavor and ease of use, tolerability and side effects, quality and sourcing, as well as both internal and external benefits.
Miska Salemann- Flavor and Texture: A powdered supplement should dissolve easily in liquid and taste pleasant enough to drink regularly. I evaluated ARMRA Colostrum for thickness, consistency, and how well it dissolved in both room-temperature and cold liquids, following the label’s directions. While flavor is subjective, I’ve tried several of ARMRA’s varieties and noted factors like sweetness, aftertaste, bitterness and chalkiness.
- Tolerability and Side Effects: As I began using ARMRA, I paid close attention to how I felt to see if any side effects emerged. By removing casein — a primary dairy allergen — ARMRA Colostrum is designed to be a purer, more tolerable supplement. While I didn’t experience any notable side effects while using this colostrum, it’s worth noting that some users have reported bloating, gas and mild digestive discomfort.
- Quality and Sourcing: Quality and sourcing are essential when evaluating the best colostrum supplements. I considered ARMRA’s third-party testing and sourcing protocols, as well as its proprietary Cold-Chain BioPotent Pasteurization Technology, which is designed to help preserve bioavailability. I also noted that ARMRA is sustainably sourced from grass-fed U.S. dairy cows, a standard often recommended by experts.
- External and internal benefits: To evaluate ARMRA, I considered both noticeable short-term effects and longer-term benefits with consistent use. Over the six-month testing period, I tracked any visible changes in my hair, skin and nails, along with shifts in appetite, digestion, and overall gut health. I also paid close attention to changes in my energy levels and sleep quality.
