You know that unmatched “relaxed” feeling. The feeling of crisp and cool hotel sheets with a cozy comforter that, on your last night’s stay, makes you want to pack them away in your suitcase for everyday use.

That exact feeling is what I craved on some nights when my head was racing at night and I couldn’t fall asleep. Not to mention, my morning ritual of waking up at 6:00 a.m., completing a morning workout and journaling in the early hours of the day requires a good night’s rest.

And that’s why I wanted to try Brooklinen’s Luxe Core Sheet Set. The 480-thread count sounded divine after salt lamps, melatonin and no screens before bed still made me restless. After sleeping in these sheets for more than a year, I can attest: that they are magical.

Oh, and speaking of magical, the brand’s Waffle Robe and Waffle Towels to match are 100%. Plus, those sheets will need a duvet cover to match, so do it right while you’re at it.

As someone who never slept in firm, premium-grade sheets, I practically ran to the FedEx driver in my slippers when I saw the cardboard Brooklinen box in his hand.

Finally, those dreamy sheets — as seen all over Instagram — were in my possession and ready for me to catch some ZZZs.

Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheet Set

BROOKLINEN BROOKLINEN

Sateen is made of 100% long-staple cotton, which creates a stronger, more durable fabric. This allows it to wear well over time and get softer with every wash. It comes in multiple colors and sizes, so everyone in your family can benefit. While I reviewed the Luxe Core Sheet Set, I’m looking forward to trying the brand’s linen sheets for the warmer months for an even more breathable option.

Size options: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King | Color options: Solid White, Cream, Graphite, Window Pane, Graphite and Steel Oxford Stripe

Are Brooklinen sheets worth the price?

If you combine the number of times Kim Kardashian cried on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” with how many times Gordon Ramsey yells at an aspiring Master Chef, it still wouldn’t compare to the number of times I’ve raved about Brooklinen. And, that’s sayin’ something.

Yes, yes, and more yes.

The Luxe Core Sheet Set looks clean and is so comfortable to sink into at night. I’ve had a few people lie down on my sheets and they didn’t want to get up. Seriously, I almost missed a dinner reservation.

The soft-serve ice cream-like texture is embedded on the fitted sheet, flat sheet and two pillowcases the bundle comes with. Plus, the 100% long-staple cotton and OEKO-TEX-certification for chemical safety make them above the rest.

While on the more expensive side, bedsheets are a wonderful investment. First off, you spend 75% of your life in your bed. Secondly, they’ll last you for years.

Let’s talk about it. I’ve never had a better sleep than with Brooklinen’s sheets. The satin-like border makes the sheet feel luxurious, especially if you spend minutes folding the flat sheet hotel-style.

Next, the aesthetics: they simply look quality. Especially with a white comforter — which is super in right now — your room will never look sharper. And, though my bedroom itself screams boho and leans toward minimal, you can’t deny they look great, even without the comforter on top (a win for people who detest making their bed in the morning).

Additionally, the sheets are so breathable. For hot and cool sleepers alike, I would say the Luxe Core Sheet Set is a great, light and airy option but if you want more, read our best cooling sheets review. I like to sleep with a million and one blankets and shorts, practically all year round, and Brooklinen delivers an exceptional, sound sleep. So much so, it’s a struggle to leave bed some mornings.

How to wash Brooklinen sheets? Washing the sheets couldn’t be easier. Simply toss them into your machine like normal and you’ll have even crisper sheets. My general rule of thumb is to rotate them in the laundry every week or two.

On that note, these sheets have not shrunk or lost their true shade after a year, which is super impressive. I’ve had sheets that have shrunk, stretched and pilled within two months — a major no-no that you won’t find with Brooklinen’s set.

After sleeping in these sheets for a few years now, I now understand both the price and the hype. However, it is still considered a minor downfall, considering these sheets aren’t in everyone’s budget. That said, they make wonderful holiday gifts.

Be sure to note how careful you have to be with white sheets. If you’re prone to spilling drinks or leaving some mascara on at the end of the day, I recommend going with another color, like graphite or steel Oxford stripe.

My review of Brooklinen’s linen sheets

Victoria McDonnellVictoria McDonnell

I’ll admit, I was genuinely hesitant to invest in linen sheets because I tend to want bedding that feels cozy and warm, yet somehow also refreshingly cool.

For me, linen always brings to mind crisp, breezy material more suited to hot summer nights than the year-round comfort I crave. I worried that linen might leave me shivering in the colder months or feeling a bit too bare against my skin when the temperature dropped. Linen’s reputation for breathability and airflow seemed perfect in theory, but I couldn’t shake the fear that it wouldn’t provide that snug, warm cushion I enjoy when slipping into bed at the end of a long day.

TLDR: these linen sheets were *heavenly.*

Once I finally decided to try these Brooklinen linen sheets, that fear dissolved quickly. From the first night, I was surprised by how well the material managed my body temperature; it felt cool when I needed it during warmer hours, but never icy or chilly when the air turned brisk.

Linen’s natural breathability really does work as promised, letting air circulate in a way that feels fresh without losing a comforting touch. I noticed that even on nights when I went to bed feeling hot, the sheets helped regulate my body heat in a way that left me comfortable through the night, exactly the balance I was hoping for based on other linen reviews I’ve read.

The texture also evolved. At first, the weave felt a bit crisp and tactile compared with my softer cotton sheets, which made me wonder if I’d made a mistake. After a few washes, though, the fabric softened noticeably while still retaining that airy structure that makes linen so appealing. That “lived-in” softness gave the sheets character — they didn’t feel flimsy or delicate, but instead relaxed and casual in the best sense.

The slightly rumpled aesthetic added to the cozy vibe of my bedroom, and it also signaled that these sheets were breaking in rather than wearing out.

Overall, using this linen bundle has made me rethink what I want in my bedding — and I recommend them alongside the brand’s signature sheet bundle.

They’ve become my go-to sheets through shifting seasons, and their performance has changed how I judge other bedding materials going forward. If you’re someone who sits on the fence as I did, skeptical about linen but curious about that ideal warm-yet-cool sleep, these might just be worth the leap.

Are Brooklinen Sheets Worth It?

Order the sheets — that’s the bottom line.

On a more serious note, your evenings are sacred: resting after work, eating a wholesome dinner, devoting some time to skincare and prepping for a good night’s sleep. Brooklinen truly makes that possible. After all, there’s nothing more satisfying than a luxurious foundation for you to sleep on.

How to wash Brooklinen sheets

To wash Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheets, machine wash them in cold or warm water on a gentle or normal cycle with like colors. Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach, as harsh chemicals can weaken the cotton fibers over time.

If possible, wash your sheets separately from heavy items like towels to reduce friction and pilling. Tumble dry on low heat and remove promptly to minimize wrinkles. If needed, you can use a warm iron to smooth them out, but promptly folding or putting them back on the bed will usually keep them looking crisp.

For Brooklinen Linen Sheets, machine wash in cold water on a gentle cycle using a mild detergent specifically suited for delicate fabrics. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners, as they can break down the natural flax fibers and reduce the fabric’s breathability.

Because linen becomes softer with each wash, there’s no need for special softening products. Tumble dry on low heat or, ideally, line dry to preserve the texture and longevity of the fabric. Remove while slightly damp to prevent over-drying and embrace the natural, relaxed wrinkles that give linen its signature look.

How we tested

  • Moisturemanagement: I assessed how well the sheets wicked away sweat and moisture to keep the sleep surface dry and comfortable.
  • Softness and comfort: I tested the texture and feel of the fabric against the skin, noting smoothness, breathability and overall comfort over multiple nights.
  • Fit and stay-put design: I examined how securely the fitted sheet stayed on the mattress, including corner depth, elastic strength and resistance to slipping.
  • Durability after washing: I washed and dried the sheets according to care instructions to observe any changes in softness, cooling ability, shrinkage or fabric wear.
