We got the skinny on this deceptively delicious deal.

David Protein Bars — the high-protein, low-calorie bars that recently found themselves under legal scrutiny (in a case that has since been dismissed) — are back in the conversation just in time for Amazon’s Big Spring Sale, now marked down up to 20% off.

In the lawsuit, the brand is accused of misrepresenting the bars’ calorie and fat content. But, as Peter Rahal, founder of David Protein, has explained to news outlets and on his own social platforms, some don’t understand how calories are measured.

David Protein Bars contain an ingredient known as Esterified Propoxylated Glycerol (EPG), a plant-based fat alternative that delivers the texture and mouthfeel of fat without being fully digested by the body. Calories remain minimal while the bar still tastes indulgent.

Each bar gives 28 grams of protein for roughly 150 calories, which explains why shoppers keep clicking “add to cart.”

David High Protein Bars

The flavors read like a bakery case: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Fudge Brownie, Blueberry Muffin. Sweet enough to feel like a reward, clean enough to eat after your workout.

Beyond the headlines, many shoppers (more than 20,000 this past month alone on Amazon) are still adding the bars to their cart.

“The bar is perfectly chewy with a slight crunch to give it some texture,” one happy customer wrote, while another stated the taste was “great.”

The discount just makes the protein bar more delicious. If you haven’t tried them yet, this is your chance to see what all the hype is about.
