If there’s anything we learned after living in the pandemic era
(and simply busy schedules), it’s that we’d sell our souls for meal kit services.
But not just any service. We want rich flavors, quick and easy meals and a variety of dinners, appetizers and more that keeps things interesting and delicious.
Luckily, Gobble is the meal kit that should be put on your radar (if it’s not already, that is). Not only is it one of our favorite meal delivery kits that we tested this year, but it’s also a destination for gourmet, freshly prepped 15-minute meals that is one of the best delights to appear on your doorstep.
“We out-cook our competitors through convenienceand flavor,” Danielle Platz, director of marketing at Gobble, told the New York Post. “Most meal kits specialize in one or the other, but Gobble does both. Our chefs do all the prep work—like simmering sauces, marinating meats, and chopping fresh vegetables—so that anyone can make a gourmet meal in 15 minutes.
What’s more, Gobble’s mission has always been to bring families together through its delicious food offerings. “We offer family-oriented options like Meal Kits for Four and Kid-Friendly recipes and were voted No. 1 Meal Kit by “Parents Magazine.” At the end of the day, we want something you can count on, and that’s eating home-cooked food with your loved ones.”
What makes Gobble a unique meal kit?
Not only does Gobble marry the convenience of takeout with the freshness, health and satisfaction of a home-cooked meal, but each of its recipes is carefully curated by Chef Thomas Ricci, a 30-year culinary expert.
Oh yes, you essentially have a personal sous chef from afar.
Some mouthwatering recipes include chicken scallopini with a creamy lemon garlic sauce and harvest rice medley, seared salmon with roasted brussels sprouts and a balsamic reduction and chicken tortilla soup.
And, if you want to know the tried-and-true favorites, see the curated list Gobble exclusively shared with us:
- Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice and Naan Bread: Customers love the sauce, the quick and easy preparation and the entire meal experience
- Sweet Chili Shrimp with Coconut Rice and Thai Coleslaw: This is a twist on honey walnut shrimp but with a Thai flavor that’s unique and easy to make
- Chimichurri Fish Tacos with Shredded Cabbage: Chef Ricci loves how fresh and unique this meal is when compared to your standard palette of fish tacos
- Filet Mignon with Potato Dauphinoise, Asparagus Tips and Sauce Bordelais: This creates a classic and quality French steakhouse dinner in just 15 minutes, which is exciting to Gobble’s members
- Mushroom, Zucchini and Feta Spiced Shakshuka with Naan: Gobble’s Shakshuka sauce, per Ricci, holds “an amazing depth of flavor” and is a one-pan vegetarian meal that won’t make you miss or crave meat

Not to mention, with some recipes, you have the option to personalize them, sometimes replacing shrimp for chicken or selecting a type of fish for dinner.

As far as managing your account goes, Gobble offers another tier of personalization, allowing you to pick your meals to fit with your schedule. “Whether you’re going out of town or just out to dinner, you can pause your weekly box anytime,” Platz explains. “Some of our members will order boxes every week and others, every other week. What matters is that you’re in the driver’s seat.”

What goes into building a recipe at Gobble
GobbleLike any venture, the first part is brainstorming. “As a team, we collectively imagine what kind of dishes our members would enjoy — whether the meals are new to their palette or reinvented from their favorite restaurant experiences,” Ricci told The Post. “Our menu focuses on seasonal ingredients, along with techniques acquired from our culinary team’s professional experiences.”
Then, Gobble conducts extensive research into each component of the meal. “We ask ourselves, ‘how does this ingredient work in conjunction with other components of the meal?’ ‘Can it be enjoyed as is, or does it need to be less spicy, salty, or acidic to give the members the option to truly personalize the final step of cooking the meal?,’” Ricci notes. “Each palate is different, so we want to create a combination of components that fit the needs of most while adding ingredients that we predict will highlight or meet the expectations of others.”
Plus, once the brains and the flavor palette mix together, the taste-testing process is extensive before it’s available to recreate from your home kitchen. “Each meal is cooked a minimum of five times before it’s considered menu-ready,” Ricci explains. “Every day in the Gobble kitchen, our chefs analyze our recipes for accuracy in heat, timing and cooking equipment.”
Not to mention, the Gobble team is constantly assessing if certain ingredients are suitable to travel overnight and if it’s meal-user or kid-friendly.
What Gobble is dishing out ahead of the summertime months
GobbleWhen warmer temps arise, we’re thinking of cookouts, refreshing foods and light yet hearty meals. While Gobble offers fresh, seasonal ingredients on the menu year-round, this is the season where Gobble’s in-house team of chefs will be preparing its annual grill kits, which have always been top-sellers. This summer, our chefs will be prepping our annual grill kits, which have always been top-sellers.
“You’ll find dishes like Grilled Lamb Chops with Romaine Salad & Italian Salsa Verde and Grilled Filet Mignon Kebabs with Turmeric Rice alongside seasonal sides like Summer Truffle Mac & Cheese, and Fougasse Bread with Spinach Artichoke Dip,” Platz lists.
Outside of Gobble’s membership offering, the brand is introducing a brand-new 4th of July BBQ Box with no subscription required. “You’ll get a homemade BBQ spread packed with grass-fed proteins, grill-worthy confits, and compound butters — all delivered to your home or Airbnb,” Platz highlights. The bottom line
GobbleIf the freshness factor and incredible value don’t sell you enough, Gobble is the ideal solution for young professionals, dual-working households, busy families and anyone who’s looking to spend less time in the kitchen.
“We’re proud to be one of the only female-founded companies in the meal delivery space,” Platz says, on a concluding note. “Our founder, Ooshma Garg, created Gobble to solve the universal mealtime question: What’s for dinner? She was inspired by the importance of eating together with loved ones without having to sacrifice time, flavor, or nutrition. And really, who doesn’t want that?”
With Gobble, you can have the luxury of trying new recipes you’ve been meaning to get to on your Pinterest board but simply haven’t had the time to (we’ve all been there). And, I give it five stars as one of the top meal kits I’ve tried.
