Washable, dryable, and ready for real life.
That’s Ruggable’s sales pitch, and I didn’t fully buy it — until a pipe burst and the lower level of my condo flooded. Water instantly soaked the furniture, destroying the floors and requiring an immediate gutting of about two feet of drywall.
Nearly everything was ruined, but one thing that survived: my washable rug from Ruggable.
I got the decorative rug from Ruggable’s Jonathan Adler collection about a year ago, and it’s already been through a lot: plenty of dog fur, some toddler stains, a coffee spill and a whole move across boroughs. Now we can add “survived a flood” to that list.
While they’re not exactly cheap, select washable Ruggable styles are currently $200 off — and that’s before Presidents Day sales officially kick off later this month.

While packing up what was left of our belongings, I grabbed the rug cover along with its accompanying rug pad, which also somehow emerged completely unscathed from the flood.
Technically, the rug can be tossed into any washing machine on cold, but mine was on the larger side, so I sent it out for professional cleaning. And now, she’s as good as new. The couch, dining table, and upholstered bed? Not so much.
I could go on all day about why I love Ruggable’s craftsmanship. Furniture instantly loses value when you buy it, but these rugs are truly designed for whatever life unrolls. And you don’t have to replace them every time there’s a situation.
Johnathen Adler Op Art Charcoal Rug
RuggableMy tufted, all-in-one rug is one of Ruggable’s most popular textured styles, featuring a comfortable 7-mm pile, built-in non-slip backing, and a 100% polyester top with a waterproof barrier.
While my exact colorway is no longer available, you can still shop the Jonathan Adler Op Art style in Charcoal and Teal. The striking geometric design blends seamlessly into a variety of interiors, while still adding a pop of color and some dimension to a dreary space.
Care is simple. Vacuuming is fine on low suction. And, you can wash on cold and tumble dry on low. Larger sizes (like mine) may require a professional cleaning service if they won’t fit in a standard dryer. However, smaller sizes can easily be hung and air-dried.
