When I say I hate Crocs, I mean I despise them as much as the French despise flip-flops — and if you didn’t know, they detest them.
As a product tester and style writer at the New York Post for over 2 years, I evaluate materials, test fabrics and offer style recommendations. When I first began, I never envisioned myself trying to convince you to get a pair of Crocs. But along the way, I’ve tested dozens of shoes, including an entire Crocs roundup, and the Miami Toe Loop Sandals shockingly stood out.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ll suggest a pair of Le Seul slip-ons for $450 as the perfect walking shoe (no break-in required), but for an everyday slide? These Crocs will do just fine.
These sandals blend in like a normal shoe, completely shedding the chunky, distinctively polarizing vibe we usually associate with the brand. Instead, they feature a slender footbed and an asymmetrical toe loop that is surprisingly comfortable. Walking across the city in them feels like walking on a cloud, thanks to a plush yet supportive sole.
They may not quite meet elite French style standards, but if you’re pro-sandal, these tick all the boxes. These shoes can work for beach days and graduations to date nights and the office. No need to be loud and proud, but it might be time to join the Croc club. I won’t tell on you.
