Still keeping up with the Kardashians?

Admit it, you are and so are we. Naturally, you’ve probably seen a zillion references toSKIMS, a.k.a. Kim Kardashian’s trendy brand for underwear, loungewear and shapewear.

Life is too short to be uncomfortable, so we wanted to see if SKIMS was worth our money or a bunch of celebrity hype. We don’t want to spoil things for you but some members of our team can’t stop buying products in every color after testing.

About Skims

Kardashian wanted to create a forward-thinking brand that not only matched every skin tone but had inclusive sizing so everyone could feel beautiful. After all, undergarments shape us literally and figuratively, and SKIMS’ signature fabric stretches up to twice its size, enhancing and flattering curves.

From flattering bodysuits to push-up bras, we tried some of the most popular pieces to produce our SKIMS review — a beginner’s guide to the brand that highlights the best pieces to start with.

We also had a chance to test a few pieces from the NikeSKIMS line that deserve 5-stars from us for quality, style, and a ballerina vibe that won us over.

Below, find our first impressions of SKIMS, why we love it, how each piece fits and other styles we recommend. Hurry — these pieces sell out faster than you can spell Kim Kardashian.

Our SKIMS review

SKIMS Fits Everybody Square Next Bodysuit

SKIMSSKIMS

If you’re looking for a life-changing, shape-altering bodysuit, this SKIMS bodysuit review is for you. The fabric is double-layered and provides a sculpting effect. The suit snaps close with a G-string bottom, so if you don’t enjoy thongs, you may not enjoy this suit, but I highly suggest giving it a try before you knock it.

New York Post Review: “After purchasing this buttery soft bodysuit, my only question is why I waited so long to invest. It’s lightly supportive, but still oh-so-comfy. Kim Kardashian knocked it out of the park on this one.” — Hannah Southwick, Page Six commerce writer

NikeSKIMS STRETCH KNIT Long Sleeve Boatneck Top

SKIMSSKIMS

My review: This is officially my favorite worktop and makes me feel pretty and even if it’s a bit cliché, like I pursued my dream of becoming a ballerina, especially in the Himalayan Pink shade. It’s a flattering neckline that looks good on all shapes. Keep in mind it is form-fitting but very flattering. I highly recommend buying this in all three colors.

NikeSKIMS V-Line 26-Inch Legging

SkimsSkims

My review: These leggings are incredibly sturdy and offer great compression. The design mimics a ballerina wearing a leotard over leggings, featuring an edgy, stitched underwear line cut. You’re either going to love it or hate it!

While I’m okay with the front, the back definitely gives the illusion of a thong. I haven’t quite worked up the courage to debut these at OrangeTheory yet, but if you’re looking for a daring, unique look, these are it.

NikeSKIMS MATTE Double Strap Scoop Bra

My review: I loved this bra because it doesn’t have padding or inserts in it. And if you’re worried about your nipple poking out, it’s bound by an extra layer with the double fabric reinforcement that holds it in. Now I’m a very small-busted woman, so if you’re Kim Kardashian’s size, you may have more of an indent, but it held up well while working out and was very flattering.

As a 34B, the small felt a little tight getting it over my head and sliding it on. I suggest sizing up if you like plenty of give or have any arthritis in your joints. Putting this bra on can be a workout in itself.

SKIMS Cotton Rib T-Shirt

SKIMSSKIMS

My review: This fitted short-sleeve tee with a classic crew neckline sits just above the belly button on me.

As much as I’d love to say social media marketing doesn’t get to me, I’d be lying. I saw this shirt in an influencer’s video and had to have it, stat. I’ve made peace with my small boobs, but sometimes I want a little boost for extra confidence. This shirt hugs my curves perfectly, flattering both my chest and stomach.

I recommend machine washing cold and air drying to prevent any shrinkage. I don’t have a washer or dryer, so I can’t say for sure if it shrinks, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. The brand does mention you can tumble dry on low, if needed.

SKIMS Sleep Henley Tank & Sleep Straight Leg Pant

SKIMSSKIMS

My review: Never have I felt anything softer than this material. It’s made of micro modal with a little bit of elastane for stretch. Leave it to Kim Kardashian to make you feel sexy in loungewear, but here we are. The top has a scoop/v-cut neck with Henley buttons added for style, and it falls around my belly button. Super soft with a side of sex appeal.

These pajama bottoms are unbelievably soft. They’ve become my go-to for a cozy night’s sleep — and who are we kidding…daywear. SKIMS also sells a matching pair of shorts if pants aren’t your jam. My only con is that they run large. I’m wearing a small, and I need an extra small to keep them on. The drawstring helps, but they slip down a lot.

SKIMS Everyday Cotton Boy Short

SKIMSSKIMS

My review: Although it’s not seamless, it is comfortable and, most importantly, breathes really well. The stretch on these boy shorts is incredible. I do like that it doesn’t dig into my skin, and I don’t feel vacuum-sealed; rather, it’s a comfortable stretch I don’t even think about while wearing.

When they arrived, I did find a thread that felt a little rushed through manufacturing and can easily unravel but overall at $22 (sad to say is a bargain these days) it does get the job done. It comes in seven colors, but they are selling out fast, so snap it up now because it won’t be here long.

SKIMS Fits Everybody Boy Short

SKIMSSKIMS

New York Post Review: “The Boy Short is soft and seamless. While you won’t be seeing any personal pics of them, I can attest they are the comfiest bottoms to wear under your cozy pants. And, if you detest underwear lines of any sort, you won’t have to worry about that with SKIMS.

It’s important to keep in mind that these Boy Shorts aren’t thick. If you like your panties with more fabric, these might not be for you, but I absolutely love them for slipping on underneath my bottoms for all-day wear that won’t ride up.” — Victoria Giardina, commerce & content strategist

SKIMS Fits Everybody Push-Up Bra

SKIMSSKIMS

My review: Out of all the push-up bras we’ve tried, this buttery-soft number from SKIMS fits like a dream and deserves an award. I love the 360-stretch with a lightly padded foam shelf to enhance your boobs. It gives them a rounded curve above the bra, showing off some serious shape. However, if you really want to pop, try the Super Push-Up Bra — now that’s a showstopper. But this one gives me the perfect amount of lift when I want to feel perkier.

SKIMS Super Push-Up Bra

Emma Sutton-WilliamsEmma Sutton-Williams

My review: Out of all the SKIMS bra reviews, this Super Push-Up Bra was my favorite. It may not look like a lot of lift to you, but as a flat-chested woman, I promise you, the difference was vast. This bra will double your bra size while hoisting the girls together. There is a lot of padding here, so if you just want a shelf push-up, I’d suggest getting the SKIMS Fits Everybody Push-Up Bra I really appreciate how smooth this looks underneath my tops because unless you’re intimate with me, this bra is my undetectable superpower for busting up.

Sizes: 32A-44F | Material: 80% polyamide / 20% elastane | Color: Available in five shades

SKIMS Ultimate Bra Nipple Push-Up Bra

SKIMSSKIMS

My review: This bra was a lot of fun to test. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but after trying it on, I love how it looks. It’s the modern take on bullet bras from the ’40s blended with the ’70s braless trend to give you volume and great lift in one go. I’d say it’s giving off a sexy, GQ cover vibe. Think of a woman soaked in a white shirt, but without the water.

Fun fact: these nipples are modeled after Kim Kardashian’s. The soft sheen microfiber fabric feels amazing, and the tapered foam pads give a natural-looking lift while keeping you at full volume. One thing to keep in mind is the snug fit, so if you’re between sizes, it’s best to size up.

How We Tested

Emma Sutton-WilliamsEmma Sutton-Williams
  • Comfort and Breathability: We wore each piece for extended periods to evaluate how comfortable they felt against the skin.
  • Longevity: We assessed how well the garments held up over time, including how they felt after several hours of wear.
  • Shaping and Support: We focused on whether it enhanced our natural curves and provided believable structure without feeling too restrictive.

The final verdict?

We really wanted to be skeptical of these reality TV star’s products, but in this rare case, our Kim Kardashian SKIMS products passed our test. Every piece we tried was buttery soft and breathable, making us feel confident all day long.

With a distinctly sexy vibe, SKIMS stands apart from the typical loungewear on department store clearance racks. These pieces are thoughtfully designed to help you look your best and pop on Instagram (or TikTok).

SKIMS is all about empowering women to dress with confidence. From cozy loungewear to curve-enhancing shapewear, the collection is designed for real women of all shapes and sizes.

Though a more luxe brand, many of its pieces are less than $100, so they are well worth the price. Plus, it’s the easiest way to look snatched and good without trying.

Do Skims run big or small?

SKIMS bras generally run small, but the brand offers so many inclusive sizes that finding your fit shouldn’t be a problem. If you’re unsure, SKIMS recommends sizing up.

We found that shapewear and bodysuits are very forgiving and true to size, with the material stretching up to two sizes to move with you. The same goes for SKIMS underwear.

Dresses and tops have a snug fit, so if you prefer a looser feel, consider sizing up. However, the loungewear — especially the SKIMS Sleep Straight Leg Pant — tend to run large, so we suggest sizing down.

Is Skims a good brand?

Beyond the fact that Kim Kardashian started this brand, SKIMS has gained popularity for its inclusive sizing, comfortable fabrics, and minimalist designs. We found the quality to hold up and enhance our features. Our only con is that items sell out fast, and we had trouble finding the right size, color, and product because so many love them. It’s an excellent brand problem to have. Check out other beloved products, such as SKIMS swimsuits for summer or robes, coats, and leggings for fall.
