You probably know the feeling all too well. You know, the feeling of combing through your closet hangers for that dress, only to realize you’ve already worn it that week?

Like a lot of people, I don’t love the idea of repeating outfits, but I also don’t love avoiding something if I adore it to its core.  That said, I obviously don’t sound like the poster client for clothing rental companies. I’ve never been able to wrap my head around paying a lump sum each month to wear an article of clothing only once. But then I discovered Nuuly, and much to my surprise, I was instantly hooked after my first month.

Nuuly Clothing Rental Service

For $98 a month, you’ll have inside access to your choice of six styles each month — from party dresses to premium denim and even vintage pieces.

“The experience is designed to be as intuitive as shopping your own closet,” Sky Pollard, head of product at Nuuly, exclusively shared with Post Wanted. “Customers browse Nuuly through our app or site, where new styles drop every day. They can save favorites to their closet, organize lists for upcoming events or trips and read thousands of real customer reviews to help with fit and styling.”

Sizes: 0P-40W

(Right now, if you use promo code Crush30 your first month will only be $68)

I’ve been hearing about Nuuly everywhere: as podcast advertisements, from YouTube content creators and people I know in real life.

What’s great about it is that you can tailor your box (actually, it’s a sustainable, soft zip-up case) for whatever you have going on.

When I tried Nuuly for the first time a few years ago, I knew my calendar was going to be filled with taco-and-sangria dinners with friends (it was June), a gala party press event, a few graduation parties and, of course, commutes to the New York Post office for work.

From my first summertime box with an out-of-my-comfort-zone jumpsuit (which I ended up loving) and a pair of AGOLDE denim jeans (because, why not?), to a cozy Free People sweater and French Connection plaid blazer, I became a part of Nuuly’s fanbase.

Fast forward to 2026, where my days consist of heading to the office five days a week. The last thing I want to do is think about what I’m wearing — and Nuuly takes the guesswork out.

How does Nuuly work?

With Nuuly, you browse a lookbook of styles before committing to your first month. From brands to choose from — like Anthropologie, Free People and LoveShackFancy — you simply add six styles to your cart. They can be all cute dresses for work, all denim jeans to wear a month straight or a mix and match of all its offerings. It’s completely up to you.

There’s no price limit for renting, so you can rent six pieces that are all $300, with no additional charge. Or, if you find a $35 top, you can add that to your bundle. It’s as convenient and customizable as that.

Let’s be real — you chose six items you want to wear and, upon wearing them, you’re bound to fall in love with at least one of your picks. Nuuly allows you to purchase any of your styles at an up-to-75%-off discount to keep them in your wardrobe forever. Or, if you want to keep the clothing rotation going each month, you can return all six items in the provided return label.

What’s more, Nuuly has an in-house, state-of-the-art laundry facility, so you don’t have to worry about washing your clothes before returning them. There are no late fees, damage fees or fees to pause or cancel.

My review of Nuuly

When I tried out Nuuly, I probably spent close to three hours on my computer to optimize my style selections. I was impressed that the brand offered a brief style quiz, asking for my height, weight and bra size. Nuuly also asked me for what type of fit I usually wear (petite, standard or plus) and what body type closely resembles mine (pear, apple, hourglass, inverted triangle or straight). I appreciated the option to select more than one for better results, especially since many shoppers are bigger on top and smaller on the bottom or vice versa.

I was also impressed with Nuuly’s fast, two-day shipping. I didn’t have to worry about its ETA — it graced my doorstep and was the most exciting bundle to unzip. Throughout the month, I felt comfortable, confident and refreshed.

With Nuuly, I didn’t feel the fast-fashion ick (you know what I’m getting at). While I did love every piece I ordered (except for the Free People top; it was way more cropped than originally pictured on the site, which didn’t make it work-appropriate as I had thought when adding it to my Nuuly cart), I appreciate the service for keeping my closet less cluttered.

I also loved how Nuuly taps into data for your orders to offer suggestions on brands and styles for your next bag.

“Data plays a huge role in helping us create a more intuitive and personalized experience,” Pollard added. “From the ‘For You’ sort to fit and review filters, we use insights from how customers browse, rent and review items to surface styles they’re more likely to love.”

While I have been enjoying Nuuly for a few years now, its one con is that it’s not practical every month — at least for my lifestyle. For me, it doesn’t always make sense to spend upwards of $100 a month on clothes. I think a lot of people can relate to this, which is why it’s important to note that as long as you pause your subscription before the next billing date, you won’t be charged for that month. You can pause for up to 3 months.

However, if shopping is one of your favorite things, you might actually find that the service saves you time and money — especially if you’re now in need of a new office-appropriate wardrobe.

Kendall Cornish, one of our commerce editors, also loves Nuuly and routinely uses it to switch up her look.

“Nuuly has become a trustworthy mainstay in my life in terms of packing for trips, prepping for events, and refreshing my wardrobe for work and going out,” Cornish said. “My absolute favorite part? Delivery is absurdly fast. I’ve gotten Nuuly packages delivered everywhere from Arizona to Texas and all over New York, and every time they arrive within 3 days of my choosing my selections.”

Cornish also noted that she likes how easy it is to shop by occasion or need.

“Not only does Nuuly have hundreds of cute items to choose from, but it also makes shopping easy with categories like Rent Top Rated, Rent Trending, and Rent Wear to Work.

Is it worth it? The verdict is in

nuulynuuly

I was absolutely shocked when I discovered how much I liked Nuuly, and now with returning to the office full-time, I absolutely think the service is worth it. I feel more confident, put-together and stylish pairing all of the pieces together — and I don’t need to worry about outfit fatigue, because I can swap out looks regularly.

Nuuly took the guesswork out of planning my outfits, while still scratching the itch for having new items to wear. This rental service gave me peace of mind while returning to the office, making it well worth it.
