I was a smart glasses skeptic at first.
The idea of something strapped to my face with audio and video recording capabilities, and a steep price tag of over $400, didn’t exactly sit right with me.
But once I started seeing smart glasses taking over social media (as well as the streets of NYC), I decided I ought to give them a chance. A couple of weeks into wearing a pair of the popular Ray-Ban Wayfarers, I began to understand the hype.
After running, road-tripping and raving with them, the real standout feature for me was the Meta AI. It’s like having a personal assistant built into your day; the glasses can answer basic questions, plan and set reminders, and even offer real-time language translation, which makes them extra useful for travel. All you have to say is ‘Hey Meta,’ and your wish is its command.
I basically get to spend less time doing the mundane — typing, searching and stressing — and more time actually living. And with these glasses currently on sale on Amazon for $70 off, I’d argue they’re a no-brainer purchase.
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2)
AmazonOf course, the 12MP ultra-wide camera, 3K HD resolution and five-mic audio are attractive features for anyone who loves capturing content and looking back on memories. And, being hands-free is certainly a perk, but that’s not what sold me on Meta Glasses.
I’m not the only person to rave about the range of impressive smart features.
“The Meta AI feature is wild,” one reviewer shared. “You can literally ask questions, translate things, or get information just by talking to your glasses…”
On a full charge, the glasses last up to 8 hours with moderate use. With the charging case, you can get up to 48 hours of power on the go. They’re available in a wide range of lens and frame colors, and you can choose between a standard or large frame for a comfortable, secure fit.
