HOUSTON – Still smarting from having his third base coaching job yanked from him and given to Larry Bowa, Luis Sojo is contemplating returning to the minors as a manager instead of being moved to first base.

“I talked to (Brian) Cashman and we will talk again,” said Sojo, who left for Venezuela today. “I am not pleased and I am disappointed (about being moved).”

Asked if he would rather manage in the minors instead of coaching first, Sojo said, “It’s something I am going to talk to them about and it’s something I would look forward to doing.”

Sojo, who managed Norwich (Double-A) to an Eastern League title in 2002, would prefer to manage Tampa (Single-A) if offered a managing job in the system.

“Tampa is where my home is,” Sojo said.

Joe Breeden was a first-year manager in Tampa this season and finished 55-78.
