Alabama’s road to a national championship just got a little harder.

Star inside linebacker Dylan Moses has suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season, according to multiple reports.

It’s a major blow for the Crimson Tide defense. Moses was a preseason first-team All-American and is the team’s defensive captain. Last year, he was a finalist for the Butkus Award, given to the top linebacker in the country.

Alabama has already lost senior inside linebacker Josh McMillon to a knee injury, forcing freshman Christian Harris into a starting spot. Now coach Nick Saban may have to start a second freshman at the middle linebacker spot.
