U.S. National Team standout Jozy Altidore has opened his scoring account for Hull, bagging a goal in the Tigers’ 3-1 Carling Cup win over Southend.

The New Jersey-born ex-Red Bull got handed his first start, and the 19-year-old doubled Hull’s lead in the 42nd-minute. Captain Nick Barmby tapped a free-kick to him, and Altidore hit a right-footed blast from 30 yards out into the lower left corner to give Hull a 2-0 lead. Altidore’s tally helped lift Hull into the third round, and with a goal and an assist in his first two appearances for the newly-promoted EPL club, Altidore has gotten his loan move off to a flying start.

Think Altidore’s stay at Hull is already better than his time in la Liga? Hope they buy him outright at the end of the year? Share your thoughts…
