The Mets came to terms with their final two arbitration-eligible players yesterday, inking Victor Zambrano and Chris Woodward.
Zambrano came to terms on a one-year deal for $3 million plus incentives, according to a person familiar with the contract. As for Woodward, according to a source close to the negotiation, he agreed to terms on a one-year pact for $825,000, with the possibility that incentives could push the contract to $1.25 million.
The 30-year-old Zambrano went 7-12 with a 4.17 ERA last year and was dropped from the rotation in early September when the Mets had six starters. Woodward, 29, had a strong season as the Mets’ utilityman, batting .283 with three homers in 173 at-bats and playing every position but pitcher and catcher.
