Is Lance Berkman the answer for the struggling Red Sox?

The Astros slugger recently said he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause if the Houston wanted to deal him. At least one member of the Astros organization thinks Boston would be a great place for the Astros to send Berkman.

“He’d fit Boston like a fiddle,” one Astros organizational person told the Boston Globe. “He’s got natural power to left and left-center. He works the count like they like and has always had a high on-base percentage.’’

But would that interest be mutual? After missing the start of the season following knee surgery, Berkman is hitting .175 with two home runs in 18 games this year. And according to the Globe, Berkman is scheduled to make $14.5 this season.
