Hope Solo — the beleaguered Team USA goalie who has been ensnared in a recent domestic violence case — was involved in an altercation with police in Los Angeles early Monday morning after she and her husband Jerramy Stevens were pulled over and the former NFL tight end was arrested for DUI, according to TMZ Sports.

Solo was arrested in June and charged with two counts of misdemeanor assault in Kirkland, Wash., after an alleged fight with her half-sister and teenage nephew. The charges were dismissed last week, clearing the way for Solo to appear in this summer’s Women’s World Cup.
Stevens has a history of criminal incidents. According to Seattle’s KIRO, the former Seahawks and Buccaneers tight end was convicted of drunken driving in Arizona in 2007 and given a 30-day jail sentence. He was arrested for marijuana possession in October 2010. And he was investigated for a misdemeanor domestic violence assault against Solo from the night before they were married in November 2012, though the case was dismissed.
