The heat and humidity in the New York area has forced Belmont Park to cancel live racing Thursday.

With record temperatures expected in upper-90’s track officials decided to cancel the nine-race card. There is still simulcasting.

The forecast calls for thunderstorms and cooler temperatures over the next several days and Belmont Park expects to open on Friday.

The Belmont Stakes is on Saturday.
