TORONTO – The 18th edition of the $1.1 million North America Cup was captured by the 3-5 favorite Bettor’s Delight, who rolled to an easy 41/2-length victory over Hawaiian Cowboy in 1:50 at Woodbine Racetrack last night.

He’s so handy, he’s got speed and a terrific gait,” said Mike Lachance, driver of Bettor’s Delight. “You can do anything you want with him.”

Bettor’s Delight returned $3.30 to win. Longshot Horselaughter finished third.

Owned by John Grant and trained by Scott McEneny, both of Toronto, Bettor’s Delight is eligible to the $1 million Meadowlands Pace on July 14.

With this win under his belt, if Bettor’s Delight is able to go on to win the Meadowlands Pace, The Little Brown Jug and the Breeders Crown, he will earn a million-dollar bonus for sweeping the quartet of races for three-year-old pacing colts.
