0-18 no longer.

Arrived at the Garden for the Big East Tournament just in time to see Cincinnati’s bubble burst in embarrassing fashion.

The Bearcats, seeded ninth in the Big East, lost to DePaul 67-57 who had yet to win a conference game this season. Dar Tucker and Will Walker put in 17 each for the Blue Demons, who will play Providence tomorrow. For those who were in favor of expanding this year’s tournament, they are looking pretty smart right now. But one questions is what will this to do to Providence’s NCAA chances.

The Friars are squarely on the bubble and a win over Cincy could’ve put them over the top. But a win over DePaul would add little to their tourney resume. And they might need to follow that up with a win over top-seeded Louisville on Thursday.

St. John’s-Georgetown just starting now.
