Bill Belichick is looking to fill out his coaching staff at North Carolina, and he is interested in hiring Raiders offensive coordinator Scott Turner for that role with the Tar Heels, according to NFL Network.

Turner, the son of longtime NFL coach Norv Turner, was promoted from Las Vegas’ passing game coordinator after OC Luke Getsy was fired in early November.

The Raiders (2-11) enter Monday night’s game against the Falcons a loss away from tying the Giants with the worst record in the NFL at 2-12, with either Gardner Minshew or Aidan O’Connell starting at quarterback.

Las Vegas ranks last in the NFL in rushing at 79.1 yards per game and 27th in scoring at 18.2 points per game.

Though the Raiders have dealt with significant injuries to their running game, with top two running backs Zamir White and Alexander Mattison both missing time this season.

Scott Turner, 42, previously was the offensive coordinator for the Washington Football Team/Commanders from 2020-22.

Belichick was hired to coach North Carolina last week after first inquiring with the Jets about their head coaching job.

The six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach had been working in television after his 24-year tenure with the Patriots ended after the 2023 season.
