Bob Bradley talks job status
Bob Bradley still hasn’t had in-depth talks about returning as U.S. National Team coach, and now finds himself as the British bookmakers’ favorite to be named Aston Villa manager after Martin O’Neill’s surprising resignation today.
And Bradley, a New Jersey native and former MetroStar coach _ did little to quash the talk of taking over Aston Villa, which is owned by 48-year-old Brooklyn-born Randy Lerner.
“I’ve said over and over as well I’m always excited about new and different challenges. Coaching in Europe at some point is something I would love to do,” Bradley said before practice for tomorrow’s tilt vs. Brazil at the New Meadowlands. “At the same time I consider it a challenge when you finish one cycle and begin the process of working on another one.”
Bradley had been linked with the Fulham opening, admitting his reps had spoken to the EPL club.
“People spoke to Fulham on my behalf; I didn’t actually speak to Fulham,” Bradley said. “That’s simple and straightforward.”
