BULL BENCHES GUEVARA
All-star midfielder Amado Guevara has been fined and scratched from Red Bull New York’s active roster for Saturday’s match against Chivas USA. It begs the question whether he’ll ever play for the Red Bulls again, with two sources confirming that the club is trying to trade the hotheaded Honduran.
“I think the relationship is beyond repair for sure,” agent Patrick McCabe told The Post. “But the ball is in Red Bull’s court. They’ll do whatever suits them, whenever it suits them. Amado hasn’t helped his cause, but I think at this stage everybody has to look for greener pastures.
“I haven’t heard from teams to know who’s interested, but I’ll assume they are,” McCabe added. “This is an organizational decision. I don’t think Red Bull wants Amado as part of the team, end of story. That’s how I feel, and Amado feels the same way.”
Guevara slid from 2004 MLS MVP to Saturday DNP by his antics last weekend. Pulled in the 52nd minute, he stalked past the bench, changed in the locker room and watched the rest of the game in the stands with his wife.
